The Acolyte
The Acolyte | Outpost VFX
I worked as Senior Layout Artist at Outpost VFX on Lucasfilm's Star Wars series The Acolyte, for Disney+. The clips below are some of the shots I contributed to.
My responsibilities on the show included:
Shot layout: assembling shots in Maya and Houdini from tracked cameras, environments and CG assets, establishing scale, composition and staging.
Camera tracking and matchmove: solving live-action plates in 3DEqualizer and lining up set geometry, so CG elements sit accurately in the photographed footage.
Set extensions and dressing: placing environment assets to extend the practical sets, and keeping layout consistent across each sequence.
Camera work: creating and refining CG cameras for full-CG shots, and adjusting matchmoved cameras where the shot required it.
Delivery: publishing cameras, geometry and scene layouts for the animation, FX, lighting and compositing teams.
Thanks to the whole team at Outpost VFX. Working on a Star Wars project was a dream come true.
