Maleficent: Mistress of Evil | MPC

I worked as Senior Layout TD & Environment Artist at MPC (Montreal) on Disney's Maleficent: Mistress of Evil. The clips below are some of the shots I worked on, alongside the official trailer.

My responsibilities on the film included:

Shot layout: assembling shots in Maya from tracked cameras, environments and characters, establishing scale, composition and staging for full-CG and plate-based shots.
Camera work: creating and refining CG cameras for full-CG shots, and extending matchmoved cameras to follow flying characters and large-scale action.
Environment build and set dressing: laying out and dressing the film's fantasy environments, placing vegetation, terrain and architectural assets to extend the practical sets.
Scattering: building vegetation and detail scatters in Houdini to fill the wide environments efficiently.
Delivery: preparing and publishing layouts and environments for lighting in Katana, and supporting the lighting and compositing teams through final integration.

Thanks to the whole team at MPC for a great project.
