Die Känguru-Verschwörung
Die Känguru-Verschwörung (The Kangaroo Conspiracy) | Trixter
I worked as Senior Matchmove Artist & Layout TD at Trixter (Munich) on Die Känguru-Verschwörung, the German feature film starring a fully CG kangaroo living alongside the live-action cast.
My responsibilities on the film included:
Camera tracking: solving live-action plates in 3DEqualizer, including lens distortion, to deliver accurate, stable cameras for a character that appears throughout the film.
Object and body tracking: matchmoving props, set pieces and performers the kangaroo interacts with, so the CG character connects convincingly with the actors and the environment.
Set reconstruction: lining up set geometry and survey data with the solved cameras, to give animation a reliable ground plane and contact points.
Shot layout: assembling shots in Maya, placing the character and proxy geometry to scale against the plate, and keeping continuity across each sequence.
Delivery: publishing cameras, geometry and scene layouts for the animation, lighting and compositing teams.
Thanks to the whole team at Trixter for a great project.
