I worked as Senior Layout TD at Mill Film (Montreal) on Tom Hooper's Cats, for Universal Pictures, focusing on sequence and scene assembly. The clips below are some of the shots I worked on.
My responsibilities on the film included:
Sequence assembly: building and maintaining the master scenes for each sequence in Maya, bringing together tracked cameras, sets, props and the matchmoved performers.
Shot layout: setting up individual shots from the sequence scenes, checking scale and alignment of the oversized sets and the performers against the plates.
Continuity: keeping environments, set dressing and character placement consistent from shot to shot across each sequence.
Technical support: troubleshooting scenes and keeping layout publishes clean and reliable for the departments downstream.
Delivery: publishing cameras, layouts and scene data for the animation, fur and FX, lighting and compositing teams.
